Dragons are often associated with both Western and Eastern symbolism. The dragon in Britain blends Celtic and Christian belief and is seen as a beast of desolation and death. In China the dragon is seen in a more positive light as a symbol of supreme spirituality. |

A combination of the Dragonfly and the Grasshopper are the main elements that unite with a Celtic weave for this composition. Both insects represent many things to different cultures. The Dragonfly to the Japanese represent new light and joy. The Grasshopper to the Chinese can be seen as symbols of happiness, good luck and virtue. Also the composition has a light force that radiates through the image. The image to me represents the idea of change and good fortune. |

To the Native Americans it was associated with the lunar cycle and also female energies. The spirit of the turtle can also teach us about our relationship with time, it does not move fast, the turtle knows it has all the time in the world. |
