The image ‘Talk to the Shaman’ is reflection on the learning process where ’shaman’ work in partnership with spirits, learning the old ways to ward of evil, heal the sick and protect there loved ones. |

The spirit of thunder is depicted as a bird in Native American tradition. The image ‘Storm Bird’ takes inspiration from this idea. In the composition the storm bird is seen with opposing dragons. Dragons are often associated with both Western and Eastern symbolism. The dragon in Britain blends Celtic and Christian belief and is seen as a beast of desolation and death. In China the dragon is seen in a more positive light as a symbol of supreme spirituality. |

The image ‘Spirit Walk’ shows a gateway to heaven. A walk into light is seen by many religions as a way the spirit passes from this world to the next. The image can be seen as the nearer we get to the light the less baggage we need to carry. |

The Owl has always been surrounded with the idea of myth, mystery and magic. The owl is also a symbol of knowledge and awareness. Many superstitions and beliefs have come to be associated with this hunter of the night. |

A combination of the Dragonfly and the Grasshopper are the main elements that unite with a Celtic weave for this composition. Both insects represent many things to different cultures. The Dragonfly to the Japanese represent new light and joy. The Grasshopper to the Chinese can be seen as symbols of happiness, good luck and virtue. Also the composition has a light force that radiates through the image. The image to me represents the idea of change and good fortune. |

This image is about a mythical journey where the people of the world are carried on the back of a turtle. The turtle is a symbol of fertility and long life. To the Native Americans it was associated with the lunar cycle and also female energies. The spirit of the turtle can also teach us about our relationship with time, it does not move fast, the turtle knows it has all the time in the world. |

The butterfly can be seen in this image. In Christian imagery the butterfly is a symbol of the soul in rebirth and also of freedom. To the Native Americans, the butterfly is a symbol of change, joy and colour. |

Meditation is a way that I connect with the spirit world. In this world I am able to see and feel spirit guides. The wolf often comes close when I enter this world. The image ‘Fire Wolf’ shows a wolf howling, calling to the pack. The wolf is a powerful and dangerous animal, a predator in the animal world. In the world that I can enter, I see the wolf as a friend who helps and guides me in the old ways. The colours scheme that I used for this image reflects the element of fire. Fire is often associated with rebirth, passion and creativity. It has the power to transform everything it touches. In a way the image suggests a new beginning and transformational time to my life. |
